Missing person : Shale, Golem, premium quest. Likes to have new weapons (without giving them as a gift, just equip him once with a crystal). And loves special stones like special malachite. Mind you, they are very expensive compared to other presents. Count at least 2/3 gold for just one item.

I usually give the “Dog Gifts” to Sten, since everyone else is pretty much an open book. Wasting them on Alistair is silly, just don’t tell him to stop whining and he’ll dance at your wedding.

I have found a remarkable sapphire at a merchant in the dwarfen commons it costs 3g60s pretty much I say, but to be honest not a cleu to whom it does belong. Seeing it as a jewel it should be morrigan. Anyone of you have an answer??
Remarkable gemstones are meant for Shale. Admittedly paying 3 sovereigns+ for it is rather steep. At any rate, I find that Shale’s approval of you goes up rather quickly, especially if you let the stupid golem insult you -_-

Just a tip, there are some remarkable landmarks near which talking to your dog gives an option for him to search, this tends to either give gifts or manuscripts, it seems that the content given by the search is random though, I’ve gone through the same landmarks twice and have had completely different items.
Known landmarks to me :
- a tree near where the knights stand when you arrive in redcliffe (just next to the mill)
- a tree in the Elven alienage in Denerim (the one that has a circle of power next to it)
If you know more I’d be thankful, I tend to pickpocket for gifts as for some strange reason none of my companion tend to find this evil
Found a third landmark in the eastern brecilian forest near the mad mage, in fact it is his tent.
Another landmark is a boat by the lake before you go to the circle
I found silver bracers, described as having mabari hounds engraved on them; perhaps they work best for Sten. Alistair was like, “Umm… thanks?” only +2.
Hold Tab as you run around, it will make things like herbs, landmarks and books obvious.
Wait. There are some gifts I’m still very fuzzy on. Sten’s sword from Dwyn? The nug from the idle dwarf? How do you get these? Where? Some mission you have to do first or a certain conversation pattern?

Sten’s sword is a Companion Quest. When you complete the quest, and recieve the sword, it’s in Gift form. You gift it to Sten and then it turns equipable.
Building your friendships is important. You get bonuses, and extra quests to hunt down to earn their complete respect.

You have to talk to Riordan before you can get into the Warden Vault in the warehouse.
The dog doesnt need the bones. All Veal, meat, ox.. bones give to sten. he gives you a +6-7 for bones

When you get to the end where you are in Arl Eamon’s Estate. When you are in Arl Howe’s estate and “you” save him he will be in Arl Eamon’s Estate.
The “landmarks” where u had yur dog search… are for him to pee on. This gives him a very slight increase in stats fer a time.
