Dragon Age Origins Walkthrough

You receive this quest when you kill your first Drake (sort of a dragon). Collect enough Drake scales for an armor and bring them to Master Wade in Denerim Market.

You can find few Drakes in the Caverns of a Ruined Temple.

Bring the scales back to Master Wade. You won’t have the armor straight away though. Come back in a while.

   To get the better dragon scale armor, pay 10g for the 1st drake scale armor, but don’t pay for the second since that is just waste of gold.

   Paying for the second is not a waste of gold. You need to pay for the 2nd so that you can get the improved heavy armor versions that you craft from Dragon Scale

   paying for the first one just ripped me off of 10 fucking gold. the second one i didnt pay for and it is basically the same as second. WTF!

   stats on fir piece ( paid more for wish i didn’t)

   reg: 20 str
   armor: 1.50
   fatigue: 1.15
   5 fire resist

   second, which i didnt pay more for:

   everything same but
   5 more fire resist (+10 Fire resist)
   +1 dex

   Stats on massive dragon bone plate: (which i had better during the time I turned it in)

   Arm:3:13
   fatigue: 3.90
   +10 fire resist
   1 stamina regen in combat

   I am very disappointed. Would it have been better if I paid for both or is this really whats up.

   I didn’t pay on both occasion and i can say that the second set he gave me was good enough for me… with the additional dex and higher fire resistance.. its great….

   paying for the first drake armor didnt seem to make a difference in either the quality of either drake armor or the final dragon armor.

   Paying the 20 for the second drake armor made a huge difference but only on the final dragon armor.

   im using blood dragon armour and it rocks for a lvl 10 rouge and if u get everything from the circle temple fade then its not needed warden commander armour from wardens keep is probs second best that ive seen with helm of honneleath +2 on all attributes but not got a good sword got first one from city elf origin story

   I think some of you are missing the point. It’s a means to an end.
   You have to pay the 10g the first time AND the 20g the second time to get the best option at the end.

   the dragon scale comes in 3 choices: light medium and massive.
   if you paid both times for the drake scale and you choose the massive option(requires 42 str to equip), all the stats are doubled.

   And the set i paid 20g for was double stats from the 10g set as well as fire bonus.

   so it may seem a waste of gold at first but at the end it’s all worth it.

   Got the first set & 2/3 of the scales for 2nd set – do I need to go back to the ruined temple to get last of them? Have completed all treaty/recruitment missions, so are there more drakes in my future or should I go back to the temple? All that’s left in Denerim is for me to figure out how to get inside the Alienage…but that’s another matter. Thanks in advance!
