You can pick up this quest from the Chanter’s Board in Lothering.

Weed Out the Bandits

Your first task is to weed out the bandits north of Lothering. Kill 3 groups of enemies and return to Chanter Devons standing in front of Chantry. He will reward you with 3 gold coins.

When Bears Attack

Kill 3 bears, go back to Devons. Easy.

A Last Keepsake

The boy’s mother’s body is just north of the camp, guarded by a horde of wolves. You know what to do. Recover the body, bring it back to Devons.

You will receive 50 silver coins as a reward.

   Find Rexel, a missing Ostagar veteran.

   Fazzil’s Request (quest listed under Denerim in journal)
   Find Fazzil’s sextant, who was robbed by foreigners.

   The Chantry has unwittingly provided an opportunity to disrupt the plans of the traitorous Loghain. Head to the location marked on your map and intercept his forces.

   One of these quests will give you the Oath(keeper?) blade as a reward. About as good a sword for Alistair or the Warden as you can find by now, even better than the Family Sword from the Cousland Treasury.
