Find a way to save Sten from his certain death. Start by visiting the revered mother in Chantry. You can try persuading her to release the quanari, if it doesn’t work why not a bit of intimidation? Note that Alistair highly disaproves such acts, but at least you would make Morrigan happy.

Go back to Sten and release him. He will be a good adition to the party.

   If you get Leliana first, she can persuade the revered mother to give you the key. (Without freaking out Alistair)

   Also, if you try to intimidate without any skill, and without Alistair (or Leliana) in the party, you will impress Morrigan (+4)… and, unless I was looking at it wrong, you can keep doing it over and over to “grind her rep”. It’s hardly necessary to do this to bed her though.

   Also if you’re a rogue, you can just pick the lock on his cage and let him out that way. I didn’t spot any rep gain/loss at that.

   I do not really want him in my party but I guess I can temporarily take Sten and then rid of him when I get to the party camp.

   Sten comes off like a jerk, but thats because you have to earn his respect. I think at two points he challenges your judgment, if you stand firm you will actually gain points with him.

   The real key is try try and convince her otherwise with Leliana in the party. The Revered Mother will ask Leliana’s opinion and turn over the keys.

   @Jay: Sten Is not really a bad guy he is s Quanari. So he is all about honor, respect, and glory… Just show that to him and he’ll even become an extra quest!

    Sten is the best example of a Klingon warrior … and he loves cookies!
    Some of the funniest dialogue is with Sten versus the other characters.
