Dragon Age Origins Walkthrough

Rescue Owen’s daughter. She is somewhere in the Castle. Once you enter through the Mill you will find her there:

Location of Valena

Return to the smith. Valena will already be there .

Owen will reward you with a Shielden Dwarven Armor.

   I tried this room after I freed the kid from the demon and there were just a bunch of boxes in the room. Not sure if anyone else had the problem. Couldn’t find Valena. My quest log indicates she probably perished and I should go tell the smith.

   Seems like you have to free Valena before releasing Connor. What happened when you went back to the smith?

   I chose to say I couldn’t find her. Had the option to say she was probably dead or that I needed more time to search (which made me think I could still find her, but since I tried every room in the castle, don’t think that’s the case).

   Smith was saddened and the quest completed. I didn’t get a reward item.

   The first option, to tell that she’s vanished, will give you nothing, but, if you suspect she to be dead, you’ll be awarded an halm with 1+ armor. Not that worth in comparisn but something.

    Weak armor, but worth a lot compared to other armors you find at the time.

    NOTE:

    If you SAVE the blacksmith’s daughter and complete the quest you will NOT be able to obtain the BEST longbow in the game, the “Far Song”.

    To obtain it: tell Owen that his daughter is probably dead, and let him kill himself. A replacement blacksmith will come in and take over his shop. You can buy the Far Song ONLY from this replacement blacksmith. You CANNOT buy it if Owen is still alive.

    I found a way to find valena after you found conner but before you slay the demon.

    You will notice that the way to valena’s little room is blocked by a locked door. there is no way to open it.

    To get to valena, use the windmill secret passage.
    this way, you can talk to her and save her (and owen).

    I’d like to help owen and get the bow. too bad there isn’t a cheat to do both (so far as i know).

    ho w do u get in the castle do u have to wait intill you kill those creatures that come at night
