I havent saved the towns people and I havent saved Lloyd. Is there any way you can heal the npc's? Also, Im never able to find Lloyd on the battlefield. After the battle is over, he is always "dead." Which section of the battlefield does he appear?

Update:

Do NOT rush the hill and always fight the zombies with the help of the Knights. The past few times I fought on the hill, and once even charged into the thick of the fog, where the undead spawn. Once I pulled the undead back, voila, cutscene.

This quest is ridiculous, because it's extremely buggy and glitchy. From what I've learned, killing the undead too fast causes a glitch. The Knights at the top of the hill simply say that there are more of the undead around, but a complete and total search of the town reveals nothing.

This is my 3rd playthrough of Dragon Age. The first time was actually the smoothest. There WAS a lone zombie down by the docks on the first playthrough. The second and third have both ended in this same place.

I was level 6 when the attack began, hit 7 shortly into it. My party is Dalish Elf, Morrigan, the dog, and Leliana. I play on modded Nightmare mode, which supposedly increased the difficulty, but doesn't seem to have. Hard is a joke, Medium is for beginners, and you might as well not play if you're on Easy. Even on Nightmare mode, with only slight alterations to the default Tactics, I only have to pause maybe twice during any combat.

My point is that on Nightmare, the undead are harder to kill, and hopefully this will help, because there does seem to be a behind-the-scenes timer.

Just did the top-of-the-hill fight (for the 3rd time in 2 days, starting fresh from entering Redcliffe each time), intentionally let a few Knights die to see if that helps move things along. This is generally when it glitches, though. If, after a few minutes, you find nothing, just Quick Load and start over, hoping for better luck.

Hint
If you are facing difficulty completing this mission. The first part is where you have knights alongside you. This is not difficult as enemies come one or two at a time.
In the second part you have to fight along with the militia . This is the difficult part.
Once all the militia are dead, you can set up an ambush by keeping 3 party members near the windmill and send one(a strong one) to go and seek the attention of the enemies.Let them follow you(they will come 2 or 3 at a time) as you run back to the windmill where your other party members and knights await. do this again until all are dead

I took Alistair's advice and went to Redcliff 1st. I was only lvl 8 and had Dog, Alistair and Morrigan in my party. I recruited Dwyn, Lloyd and berick, mentioned the oil, got the fake blessing and peed on the tree by the windmill

I had no trouble keeping my party alive but lloyd died.

I play on normal

Its not really that tough- I didn't have any trouble with this really(obviously didn't worry about saving ppl except Lloyd- the ring).

To make things easier for yourself:
- Visit around Level 8+ and have at least a healer in your party(duh...)
- Might not seem important, but the reason why ppl notice its maybe harder or easier the 2nd/3rd time around is because of the HELP. If you convince Dwyn to help, the militia gets a morale boost(Murdock will mention he's got a 'good feeling about 2night' after you've convinced Dwyn), same with Lloyd(morale-boost), same with the spy. A few able bodies is a boost anyway.
- Try and get the amulets for Perth as it will boost morale
- Mention the oil to Perth and his lackeys
- Use eathquake and AOE spells and spellcombos(if you can)
- Use all your abilities
- Make good use of aggro abilities
- Mob enemies

That should leave you with round about 12-14 militia(incl. the ones from the 1st wave)

I have been stuck here unable to find the "last" zombie by the water. I have been through every inch of this map over and over again, literally. I walk, stop, and look around. Walk, stop and look around. I have taken breaks for a couple of weeks, come back, thinking a fresh set of eyes will find it...no avail. The missing zombie does not exist. There is a glitch. I would have thought that something would cause my players to defend or attack if I got close to it but no. Everybody says go to the water or dock and I have done that at least 12 times. I have re-loaded the game more than a dozen times. I have done everything that everyone suggests and still no missing zombie. I don't want to start over but I think I might have to. There is definitely a glitch here.
