You have to travel to Denerim in order to search for the Urn.
Denerim
Head to the house of Brother Genetivi and talk to his assistant Weylon. He will direct you to an inn near Lake Calenhad. Instead of doing so try exploring the back room of Genetivi’s house. The clues will lead you to the village of Haven in the mountains to the West.
In the back of the shop you will find another body. This one belonged to a knight, probably from Redcliffe.
Head up the hill to the church and defeat Eirik.
On the right (looking from the entrance) a brick wall blocks the way. Touch in and a secret passage shall appear. That’s where you will find Brother Genitivi.
The information he gives you indicates that you will have to head to a Temple in the mountains. You can travel with him.
Ruined Temple
After talking to Genitivi explore the temple.
Take the first corridor on the left. In the cupboard you will find a Taper and a gift (a book) on a shelf next to it.
In the second corridor on the left (Cultists Chambers) you will find a key to the locked door in South Eastern Chambers.
The first corridor on the right (South Eastern Chambers): a scroll that will give you another quest. Open the locked door with the key you found earlier, you will receive a key to the main hall. There is also Expert Slow Rune in one of the chests.
Next corridor on the right: loot the Fallen Knight, you’ll find Armor of Diligence.
Move north and up the stairs to Caverns.
In the next hall you will encounter Cultist Overseer.
Follow the right corridor inside the ice cavern and at the end you will find a pile of Dragon Shit with a Warrior Statuette inside (gift). Beware of the three attacking Drakes.
(Hint: use a character with Sneak ability – leave your party behind, retrieve the object and come back – dragons will not appear because they won’t see you).
You can use the same trick to access the Dragon Egg (and inside the Life Drinker – Blod Mage’s amulet) in the northern tunnel.
Disciples of Andraste
Follow the tunnel to the West and you will meet Kolgrim. He might offer you a deal. He wants to resurrect Anrdaste and needs your help. Walk outside to meet the dragon and enter the Gauntlet.
The Gauntlet
Once you go pass the Guardian you will enter a room with 8 spirits.

Ealisay – a tune
Lady Vasilia – Vengeance
Disciple Havard – the mountains
Disciple Cathaire – Hunger
After you answer the door will open and you will have to face yourself in battle.

Put 3 characters on specified fields CFb to start and then move one by one (1st move: character from field C to field d) while placing the 4th character on a solid element of a bridge. Simple?
For the last challenge.. I won’t give you any hints.
It is up to you whether you want to pour the dragon blood into the ashes and face the Guardian or just take a pinch and leave (and face Kolgrim after).
Speak to Genitivi and exit the temple. Find him again in Denerim if you want your reward.

The ashes are in the Urn, just after the place where you have to strip for the firewall. Up the stairs and reach for the urn.

theres a way to keep your reaver specialization. 1st save your game be4 pouring blood into ashes. then do it and fight companions and bargain for reaver spec, reload game to be4 u pour blood. the specialization would still be there.

Theres this horn you get from killing one of the followers of Andraste , if you go outside and blow on it this huge dragon attacks you, found that pretty harsh.
Don’t bang the gong if you didn’t put the blood in the ashes. Bad idea. Major no no. Dragon comes and attacks you. Not fun.
@Von. You have to talk to the guy in the throne room with the huge fire to use the ashes on the arl

I went to redcliffe castle after i got the ashes but cant click on the arl or find teagen where and what am i supposed to do?

You can get both the reaver specialization and the party members to survive, before you defile the ashes save, walk up defile them, reload and bam, you got a reaver
and you can click the arl, i had the same problem just go slowly through the WHOLE figure of the arl, that worked for me, just one part on him you can click think it was the right shoulder but cant remember.

anyway after taking the Urn, i saved the game and tried my luck with the Dragon at the Mountains 2man the dragon from 50% (Wynn healer and myself SnS warrior) and then killed it, Still can’t believed I survived. Used quite alot of mana pot though

Hello! After I clicked the altar at the Gauntlet I made a bad choice so I loaded a previouse game. When I did it I realized I cannot click the altar anymore to remove my equipment! What do I do? It does not accept me to remove the equipment from myself to the inventory. Thank you in advance.
just walk through the fire and u automatically get your stuff back.
the bridge thing is easy just put one person on one of the plates then get sum1 else to step on all of them until the bridge appears proply not just faded do so untill bridge is all there then carry on.
@people. Seriously this stuff isn’t that hard. Ripped everyone in there and the Dragon. All ez. Then again I like to micro manage. The puzzles also ez.
@IIVY Just go thru the fire and the guardian will give you the option to take back off your equipment. Or you could just tell him you are going to keep it on and kill him.
@Ant: Couldn’t agree with you more when it comes to micromanaging.
The best thing to do in this case would be to pause alot and cycle through each char giving demands and targets. It might seem longer, but you actually save time compared to loading and dying.
Morrigan: frost weapons, winter’s grasp, heals
Alistair: use him as a tank, Overpower is a good one to use

uh take them down one at a time? Crushing prison one and force field the other if need be and focus on the rest of the two. They aren’t that strong tbh.
As for the dragon, well alistair kept on dying so good thing I had morigan and Wynne both having spirit healer so every now and then once alistair dies they’ll just resu him on the spot and the other will group heal.
btw pretty awesome if a rogue deals the killing blow
I cant seem to find the gong to call down the dragon… I searched the mountain top but no gong. pls tell me exactly where it is thank you.

saved the game before pouring blood got reaver…reloaded killed the followers leader took everythin from him including horn….and even saved arl eamon in castle…but didn’t fight the dragon atall….btw didnt even see it on return..:(

ok not playing the game again for a while. spent a while trying to beat myself and when i finally manage to, the game freezes. bugger that.
i have a quest to find 5 scrolls for a wizard or something. i found 4 in the ruined temple bt cannot find the 5th. i dont even know who gav me this quest or wat it is clled and havenot found it mentioned here. can anyone help please. thanks

guys when i kill the fake Weylon, i get the notes, but the village isnt visible to the map, how to I get to the village?

how are you that far at only level 8?? either you’re incredibly lucky at avoiding trouble, or you’ve encountered some kind of glitch? i’ve just finished the gauntlet and i’m at level 20 (mind you, i don’t think my patch installed properly so when i kept visiting denerim’s back alleys, those guys kept respawning as if it was my first time through there – got over 200 sovereign’s worth of money and craploads of lesser health poultices!
i guess some glitches aren’t all bad!

Thats easy Zarat im lvl 11 and im doing gauntlet atm, its just about in what order you do your main quests at, I went to do broken circle first then Wardens Keep / Stone prisoner then redcliff, then some denerim side quests and now im in Ashes Gauntlet
hi that helped me for the most part and then i figured out the rest on my own apart from the dragon…
im gonna wait until i’m a higher lvl until i vs the dragon.
